Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is hiring Field IT Specialists to provide connectivity, hardware/software support, and incident resolution across the Milwaukee region. You will participate in Enterprise and BU projects and manage asset lifecycles for a broad IT footprint.

The role requires strong communication, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently. On-site work in Milwaukee with opportunities for cross-training and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of IT Support experience is preferred.
• Industry certifications (MCITP, MCTS, ISP, CompTIA A+; Network+, Security+) are highly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work with internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support including connectivity, hardware/software, and incident resolution across region.
• Support Enterprise and BU projects and initiatives.
• Install hardware and provide ongoing support (PCs, tablets, printers, mobility devices).
• Support software and local infrastructure (server, network, VOIP).
• Assist in identifying and delivering Enterprise and BU project demand.
• Provide Field IT Services regionally and onsite.
• Manage PC lifecycle and asset management tasks.
• Support Identity and Access Management requests and security compliance.
• Assist with audit tasks and vendor management as needed.
• Travel for field visits as required.
• Serve as IT escalation point when Service Desk cannot resolve issues.
• Deliver Field IT Services per SLT using JCI service tools.
• Proactively communicate updates to customers.
• Provide differentiated SLAs for customer requests.

What you will do

Field IT Specialists provide a variety of information technology support services including, but not limited to, connectivity, hardware/software support, and overall Field IT incident & service request resolution. The role also provides support & delivery of Enterprise and Business Unit projects and initiatives.

How you will do it

• Conduct hardware installation and provide ongoing support (e.g., PCs, tablets, mobility devices, printers, specialized devices)

• Provide software support and local infrastructure service support (e.g., server, network and VOIP)

• Assist in identifying and capturing Enterprise and BU project demand (e.g., planned & unplanned)

• Provide Tech Hut services in region

• Execute PC lifecycle management and perform asset management tasks as required by Corporate IT

• Provide onsite Smart Hands (e.g., support and liaison with 3rd party & internal JCI Support teams)

• Support Identity and Access Management requests (e.g., provisioning, de-provisioning, access validation, authentication, network share, and troubleshooting)

• Support local IT security compliance (e.g., commsroom set-up, maintenance, and access) as needed

• Assist compliance teams with audit tasks

• Provide satellite office support and travel for field visits, when needed

• Support vendor management as needed

• Support IT procurement as needed

• Serve as IT escalation point in region for internal customers with issues related to IT systems, software, and hardware, in cases where Service Desk cannot resolve the problem

• Deliver Field IT Services in accordance with SLT's using JCI Service Management toolset

• Proactively communicate and provide updates to customers

• Provide differentiated SLAs for customer-related requests or incidents

What we look for

• Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred, or equivalent experience

• 5 years of IT Support experience is preferred

• Industry Certifications i.e. MS Certified IT Professional (MCITP); MS Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS); Information Systems Professional (ISP); or CompTIA (A+; Network+, Security+) are highly preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong customer service skills - friendly, approachable, and motivated with a strong work ethic and high degree of integrity

• Good team player, self-starter, fast learner, problem solver

• Ability to work independently

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - 70,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
