Job summary

Westat, Inc. is hiring Field Interviewers for the MEPS study, conducting in-person and video interviews with adults in nationally selected households. The role involves setting appointments, obtaining cooperation, and collecting signed documents, with data transmission daily.

Position is part-time with two data collection periods per year. Training in January 2027 is mandatory, and travel to local and occasional long-distance households may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older (or emancipated minor).
• Available to complete mandatory web-based training between Jan 4–15, 2027.
• Able to travel to in-person training Jan 19–25, 2027 and post-training sessions.
• Able to complete post-training online activities Jan 26–31, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adults in households.
• Contact households in-person or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete interviews, and collect signed documents (electronic and hard copy).
• Transmit data daily when interviewing.
• Travel to MEPS training and potential field travel as required.
