Job summary

Westat, Inc. is seeking Field Interviewers to support the MEPS project, conducting in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in a nationally representative sample.

Positions are part-time with two data collection periods each year and require travel to training and to households, including occasional overnight trips. Responsibilities include coordinating with households, conducting interviews, and submitting data daily while adhering to strict data security and confidentiality

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older and able to enter confidentiality agreements.
• Willing to complete mandatory web-based training between January 4 and January 15, 2027.
• Available to travel to in‑person training January 19–25, 2027, including five-and-a-half days on site.
• Available to complete post‑training home study between January 26 and January 31, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Contact households in-person and/or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete interviews, and collect signed documents (electronic and hard-copy).
• Transmit electronic data daily on work days and comply with data security requirements.
