Rondo Energy is seeking a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to industrialize field assembly of modular thermal battery systems in Alameda, CA. You will bridge CAD models and field construction, creating repeatable processes for third‑party contractors.

This role emphasizes robust, scalable methods to handle varied site conditions. The position is on‑site several times per week with an annual salary of $115,000–$125,000 plus equity and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in manufacturing/assembly/process development for large hardware.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to communicate complex sequences.

Responsibilities

• Create and standardize field assembly processes for third‑party contractors.
• Incorporate Design for Installation (DFI) requirements into product architecture.
• Participate in design and construction readiness reviews and establish release criteria.
• Define site assembly approaches, tolerances, and datum interfaces for robust field fit.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, and packaging integrated into factory‑built modules.
• Create MBOMs for modules including tooling and installation consumables.
• Support on‑site training, commissioning, and field issue resolution.
