Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks helpers to apply, remove, and repair insulation on equipment, pipes, and tanks to control noise and temperatures. Candidates read plans, select materials, and prepare surfaces while following safety guidelines.

The role involves measuring, cutting, sealing, and finishing insulation with various materials, and may require handling hazardous materials and asbestos procedures. Physical work at heights is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation.
• Knowledge of standard shop practices and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets plans and documentation to plan work.
• Selects insulation material and applies based on conditions.
• Moves materials to the worksite and sets up the area.
• Covers, seals, and finishes insulated surfaces and access points.
• Fits insulation around obstructions and shapes materials.
• Installs sheet metal to protect insulation from weather or damage.
• Measures and cuts insulation with common tools.
• Prepares surfaces with adhesives or cement for insulation.
• Secures insulation with plastic covers, tape, or caulking where required.
• Follows hazardous waste guidelines and safety rules.
• May remove asbestos insulation following safety procedures.
• Completes records, maintains tools, and cleans work areas.
• Performs other duties as required.
