Job summary

M2X Energy is seeking an Instrumentation Commissioning Technician to support startup and operational readiness of modular biogas-to-methanol systems. You will validate instrumentation and controls integration at factory and project sites, perform loop checks, calibration, wiring verification, and I/O checkout during commissioning.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on instrumentation experience in an industrial, process, or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency calibrating and verifying pressure, temperature, and flow instruments.
• Ability to read and work from P&IDs, instrument loop drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with 4-20mA, thermocouple, and discrete signal types.
• Familiarity with PLC I/O verification using an HMI or SCADA platform.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute field wiring verification and continuity checks against as-built drawings and instrument schedules.
• Perform instrument loop checks across signal types (thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transmitters, flow meters, level switches, discrete I/O).
• Configure and verify field instruments including zero/span calibration and engineering unit assignment.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing errors including mislabeled conductors and out-of-range configurations.
• Conduct control valve stroke tests and verify positioner setup and calibration.
• Verify PLC I/O mapping against the field instrument list.
• Support utility tie-ins and site integrations in the field.
