Job summary

Turner Staffing Group is seeking an Instrumentation & Automation Technician to support a 30-week mine restart project near Clayton, Idaho. Travel to the site is required for the duration, and the role covers instrumentation, controls, and electrical maintenance within the mill.

Journeyperson technicians or qualified third-year apprentices are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working under site leadership in a heavy industrial

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician, Automation Technician, or equivalent industrial experience preferred.
• Qualified third-year instrumentation or electrical apprentices will be considered.
• Experience working with industrial instrumentation, controls, sensors, or automation systems.
• Ability to read basic electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail; safety-focused and able to follow site procedures.

Responsibilities

• Replace apron feeder controllers.
• Troubleshoot and repair belt speed sensors.
• Remove loose, abandoned, or hanging cables from various areas of the mill.
• Support the installation and connection of flowmeters, probes, and other mill sensors.
• Assist with instrumentation, automation, and controls work under the guidance of the site team.
• Inspect work areas and equipment before beginning assigned tasks.
• Follow site procedures, electrical standards, and lockout/tagout requirements.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Communicate work status, equipment concerns, and safety hazards to site supervision.
• Perform additional project-related duties as assigned.
