Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies North America is seeking an entry-level Field Installer to support installing building automation systems in commercial environments. You will work with experienced team members on cabling, devices, and system components, focusing on safety, quality, and hands-on skill development.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, adherence to Bosch standards, and growth within a leading provider of smart building technologies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years’ experience with Building Automation Systems or any years of commercial electrical installations experience.
  • 1+ years' experience working on construction sites or high mechanical environments using hands to build or install devices.
  • 1+ years' experience working as an electrician or electrician's helper to understand electrical symbols and readings.
  • Understanding of HVAC/Building Automation Systems operation.
  • Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Install conduit, cabling, and devices that make up the Building Automation System.
  • Work with Lead Installers to ensure installations meet safety standards and client specs.

Job Description

Job Summary: As a Field Installer at Bosch Building Technologies, you will support the installation of building automation systems in commercial environments, working alongside experienced team members to deliver high-quality, safe, and efficient building automation and management solutions. This entry-level role focuses on developing technical skills through hands-on work with cabling, devices, and system components while adhering to Bosch standards. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-focused, mechanically inclined and eager to grow within a leading provider of smart building technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Install conduit, cabling, and devices that make up the Building Automation System
  • Work closely with Lead Installers and other team members to ensure that installations meet safety standards and client specifications
  • Pay attention to detail and adhere to timelines
  • Deliver high-quality construction services that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Understand construction practices and follow safety protocols diligently
  • Use tools and equipment effectively, requiring both technical skills and a commitment to safety. Attention to detail is critical, as installers must ensure that all materials are installed correctly and meet quality standards
  • Interpret Bosch Building Technologies and other’s drawings to productively install controls and/or special building system installations.
  • Assist as required troubleshooting efforts during either the static or dynamic start up or commissioning of building controls and special systems.
  • Assist in preparing As‑built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
  • Provide up‑to‑date As‑built information as required including locations for sensors, panels, database, code, etc.
  • Provide documentation including daily logs, etc. as required for assigned projects.
  • Level II and Senior Field Installers inspect work done by other Bosch Building Technologies employees or subcontractors to ensure all of our work is per code and meets acceptable levels of craftsmanship.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years’ experience with Building Automation Systems or Any years of Commercial Electrical installations experience.
  • 1+ years' experience working on construction sites or high mechanical environments using your hands to build or install manual or electronic devices.
  • 1+ years' experience working as an electrician or electrician's helper to further understand electrical symbols and readings.
  • An understanding of HVAC/Building Automation Systems operation.
  • Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience with Building Automation Systems or 2+ years of Commercial Electrical installations experience.
  • 2+ years' experience working as an electrician or electrician's helper to further understand electrical symbols and readings.
  • 1+ year of experience working in building automation systems using systems or mechanical devices such as high and low voltage AC circuitry, an oscilloscope, and/or bluebeam.
  • A clear ability to work with electrical equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscope etc.
  • The ability to troubleshoot basic electric circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical, control, and special system diagrams.
  • An understanding of the construction industry including safety, electrical codes, etc.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will berequiredto effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsand maybe requiredto work at heights over 1.8m(6 feet)
