Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies North America is seeking a Project Manager I to lead building automation and construction projects from initiation through completion. You’ll work with sales, operations, and technical teams to ensure quality, cost, and schedule goals while maintaining client and subcontractor communications.

The role emphasizes hands-on BAS experience, electrical troubleshooting, and collaboration across engineering, procurement, and field teams in a dynamic tech-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • 3 years' experience as a Construction Project Manager communicating with subcontractors and technicians.
  • 2+ years' experience with building automation software products.
  • 2+ years' experience troubleshooting basic electric and electronic circuitry and reading diagrams.
  • 2+ years' experience configuring and debugging basic computer problems and programming.
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes).
  • Understanding of AC power circuitry (120VAC+).

Responsibilities

  • Provides input to sales and operations on technical/business considerations (est. timing, value engineering, resources).
  • Ensures project is booked correctly and forms completed for internal/external use.
  • Ensures project documents, estimates, and information are accessible to required personnel.
  • Forecasts costs and tracks to meet budget/forecast goals.
  • Coordinates material orders with the Material Coordinator.
  • Collaborates with subcontractors/installation teams to maximize value.
  • Recommends technical solutions during estimating and supports sales.
  • Identifies change order opportunities and coordinates with sales.
  • Supports ongoing service engineering for existing building systems.
  • Reviews engineered submittals for scope, budget, and location standards.
  • On-site and field communication with clients and internal teams.

Job Summary

As a Project Manager I with Bosch Building Technologies, you will manage and coordinate building automation and construction projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule goals are achieved. You’ll collaborate with sales, operations, and technical teams to support project estimating, forecasting, and execution while maintaining strong communication with clients and subcontractors. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience in construction project management, building automation systems, and electrical troubleshooting who’s eager to grow within a dynamic technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provides input to sales and operations regarding the technical and business considerations for construction or direct owner projects. This input could be associated with areas such as estimating, value engineering, timing, special resource needs, or other aspects peculiar to specific projects.
  • Ensures project is booked correctly and that all necessary forms are completed for both internal and external purposes.
  • Ensures project documents, estimate, and other information are available to all necessary personnel to maximize Bosch Building Technologies productivity on the project.
  • Determines if customer expectations are similar to Bosch Building Technologies and if these can be achieved based upon Bosch Building Technologies’ estimate or contractual scope. Provides feedback on this as appropriate internally and externally.
  • Identifies and resolves potential project issues.
  • Accurately forecasts costs for each area of the project and tracks this over time to achieve budget and forecast goals.
  • Invoices projects timely and is actively engaged in collections to minimize aging.
  • Coordinates material orders and timing with Material Coordinator to maximize cash flow and material handling efficiency. Ensures all equipment is compatible and will function properly to achieve the required sequences.
  • Coordinates with Subcontractors or internal installation team to achieve maximum value in installations.
  • Completes the monthly WIP re-forecast before deadline.
  • Recommends technical solutions to sales and operations. Assist Sales team during estimating phase.
  • Identifies change order opportunities and coordinates with sales to document, pursue, and book them.
  • Provide support to Bosch Building Technologies and other contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond the controls or special systems operation.
  • Communicate with internal employees as required to ensure Bosch Building Technologies’ labor is accurate and timely and estimated productivity is achieved in all areas.
  • Provide leadership and input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, installation, start up, commissioning, and training for building systems.
  • Communicate with external organizations as required such as consulting engineers, building owners, and other contractors to ensure accurate and timely engineering.
  • Provide support for ongoing service engineering and support for existing building systems.
  • Reviews all engineered submittals ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and customer expectations as well as location standards. As required, provide input on employee goals and progress on these to supervisors and managers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED in related studies, preferred.
  • Other technical experience such as military, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management.
  • 3 years' experience working as a Construction Project Manager communicating at a high-level with subcontractors and technicians.
  • At least 2 years' experience of working with building automation software products.
  • At least 2 years' experience troubleshooting basic electric and electronic circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
  • At least 2 years' experience configuring and debugging basic computer problems along with programming.
  • A clear ability to work with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • A working understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers, multi-phase power, etc. (120VAC and greater)
Preferred Qualifications
  • An undergraduate degree in Electrical, Construction Management, or other related studies is excellent.
  • 3+ years' experience in stakeholder communications within project management.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical, building automation controls experience.
  • 5+ years' experience as a construction project manager.
  • 5+ years' experience troubleshooting basic electric and electronic circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
  • 2+ years of experience working with building automation systems/frameworks such as Distech, Alerton, Tridium/Niagara Framework or other OEM building automation controls.
  • Advanced working experience with project management and design tools such as Procore or Microsoft Project for scheduling.
  • Experience with mentoring, leading, and coaching team(s) within the Building Automation Systems (BAS) industry.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment
  • Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)
Working Conditions
  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Will be required to be on site with customers or contractors, with or without Paladin colleagues to manage the expectations and deliverables. Sites range from general office environments to new construction.
  • Driving to customer sites is required
  • Limited overnight travel may be required

  • Working Hours: This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
