Job summary

Advanced Process Technologies, Inc. (APT) is seeking an experienced Field Installation Foreman to lead installation crews on customer project sites across the United States.

This on-site leadership role focuses on sanitary stainless-steel installation, welding, pipe fitting, and rigging with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. You will oversee field crews, coordinate with customers and stakeholders, and serve as the on-site expert for equipment installation, welding, and pipe‑fitting

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of TIG welding experience or completion of an accredited welding program with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of TIG welding field installer experience on construction sites.
  • Minimum of 2 years installing and welding sanitary stainless-steel tubing systems.
  • Experience leading or coordinating teams (Foreman, Lead Installer, or Supervisor).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction drawings.
  • Strong math aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise installation crews on project sites.
  • Coordinate daily activities and communicate with customers, project managers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Manage crew staffing and travel/lodging to meet project schedules.
  • Train and mentor team members in equipment setting, welding, pipe fitting, rigging, and installation best practices.
  • Install sanitary stainless-steel equipment and tubing systems with Controls and Process Engineering teams.
  • Read P&IDs and equipment layouts; interpret construction drawings.
  • Perform field measurements for proper equipment placement and pipe fit-up.
  • Set up and operate welding and purge equipment for quality welds.
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts on site.
  • Use rigging equipment to position equipment; maintain tools and safety compliance.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and hazard assessments; ensure safety requirements are followed.

Job description

Advanced Process Technologies, Inc. (APT) is a leading provider of process, mechanical, and automation solutions for the sanitary food and dairy processing industries. We are seeking an experienced Field Installation Foreman to lead installation crews on customer project sites across the United States. If you have strong leadership skills, extensive sanitary stainless-steel installation experience, and a commitment to safety and quality, we want to hear from you!

The Field Installation Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing installation activities at customer job sites to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This role provides leadership to field crews, coordinates with customers and project stakeholders, and serves as the on-site expert for equipment installation, welding, pipe fitting, and rigging operations.

This position requires extensive travel and hands-on involvement in the installation of sanitary process equipment and stainless-steel piping systems.

Travel Requirements:
  • Travel required up to 100% of the time
  • Rotating schedule of 9 days on / 5 days off
  • All travel arrangements coordinated and paid for by APT
  • Cell phone allowance provided
  • Home for the Holidays commitment
What You'll Do
  • Lead and supervise installation crews on project sites.
  • Coordinate daily activities and communicate effectively with customers, project managers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Manage crew staffing levels and support travel and lodging arrangements to meet project schedules.
  • Train and mentor team members in equipment setting, welding, pipe fitting, rigging, and installation best practices.
  • Install sanitary stainless-steel equipment and tubing systems while coordinating with Controls and Process Engineering teams.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, and construction drawings.
  • Perform field measurements and ensure proper equipment placement and pipe fit-up.
  • Set up and operate welding and purge equipment to produce high-quality sanitary welds.
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, and other job-site equipment.
  • Use rigging equipment such as chain falls, jacks, dollies, and straps to position equipment.
  • Utilize grinders, saws, power tools, and hand tools to complete installation activities.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments.
  • Ensure crews follow company and customer safety requirements at all times.
Job Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 8 years of TIG welding experience or completion of an accredited welding program with equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a TIG welding field installer with a strong background in construction site environments.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience installing and welding sanitary stainless-steel tubing systems.
  • Experience working on construction sites in diverse indoor and outdoor environments requiring adaptability and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate teams effectively, including experience as a Foreman, Lead Installer, or Supervisor.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred
  • Previous experience as a Foreman or Site Supervisor.
  • Welding experience in food, dairy, beverage, or other sanitary processing environments.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
Compensation:

$30.00 - $60.00 per hour

The pay range provided reflects the anticipated base compensation for this position.
