lifeway is hiring an Accessibility Installation Technician in Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time role involves loading the company vehicle each morning, installing accessibility products, explaining projects to customers, and entering work orders. Training is provided and overtime Saturdays may be available.

The position emphasizes independence or small-team work, with tools supplied and steady year-round work supporting independence for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills for work orders and inventory.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Background in construction, carpentry, HVAC, solar, or other installation/service trades is a plus.
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle record check.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Load the company vehicle each morning.
• Install and repair accessibility products (wheelchair ramps, stair lifts, ceiling lifts).
• Explain the project to the customer and answer questions.
• Enter work orders and inventory data.
• Receive paid manufacturer training and hands-on learning.
• Work independently or as part of a two-person team.
• Jobs may range from hours to days; no overnight travel.
• Occasional Saturday overtime available.
• All tools provided.

What You’ll Do

• Pick up and load the company vehicle at our location each morning
• Install and repair accessibility products, including wheelchair ramps, stair lifts, and ceiling lifts
• Explain the project to the customer and answer any questions they may have
• Enter work order and inventory data into our system (basic computer skills required)
• Receive paid manufacturer training and hands-on learning to develop your skills
• Work independently or as part of a two-person team
• Jobs may range from a few hours to a few days—no overnight travel required
• Occasional Saturday overtime available
• All tools provided
