Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site inspector to support our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group across multiple project locations in the United States. This role provides hands-on field experience and the opportunity to directly impact project success.

You will perform inspections of traffic control, review contractor daily reports, and assist with material testing under supervision. Travel up to 40% is expected, and a High School diploma plus a valid driver's license are

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 0 years of experience; equivalent directly related experience will be considered.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency varies by project.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials, and all issues concerning the construction of a project under direct supervision.
• Determine the acceptability of the day‑to‑day work performed by the contractor; review and approve daily reports; verify QC procedures and material testing conformance.
• Review material testing procedures and results for contract conformance; measure quantities of materials placed.
• May perform sampling and/or in‑place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt pavement.
