Job summary

AmSpec Group is seeking an entry level trainee inspector to support basic inspection and sampling work in the field. The role includes completing necessary paperwork, distributing samples, and maintaining timely communications with office staff.

The position requires reading and following API and IFIA procedures, mandatory safety training, and the ability to work in refinery/terminal environments. Training will enable advancement to more complex inspection tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related industry experience.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide) with whole numbers, fractions, decimals.
• Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets).
• Must have valid driver's license and insured vehicle for field work.
• Willing to work overtime and shifts as required by the branch.
• Able to work in refineries, terminals, and on-board marine vessels.
• TWIC Card may be required to access terminals and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete safety and orientation training for facility access.
• Shadow senior inspector on jobs and learn basic inspection and sampling requirements.
• Follow API, IFIA, and customer procedures and company policies.
• Perform basic field inspection, measure product, take temperatures, sample, and calculate volume.
• Prepare and distribute field reports to vessels, terminals, and office.
• Ensure proper identification and timely transport of samples collected.
• Other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
