Job summary

CTL Engineering is hiring Inspectors for INDOT and Indianapolis DPW projects in the greater Indianapolis area. You will perform construction administration, inspection, and testing across roadway, bridge, and municipal utility projects, with travel within Central Indiana.

The role emphasizes quality control, plan reading, reporting, and coordination with project engineers. A Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree and 2+ years of field experience are preferred; certifications like

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 2+ years of related experience; highway construction experience preferred.
• Familiarity with highway construction specs and field experience.
• Experience with field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate.
• Preferred certifications: ACI Grade I, DOT Asphalt Tech, NICET Level II Soils, ICC Special inspections and/or CWI/NDT.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications.
• Read project drawings, specifications, blueprints, and inspect a variety of construction projects.
• Perform construction administration and inspection services for state, county and local projects.
• Prepare and maintain project records and reports in a timely manner.
• Notify the Project Engineer of status updates and non-conforming work.
• Conduct quality control testing at project sites (concrete, soils, asphalt, etc.).
