Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Inspector to support highway construction projects across multiple locations. You will perform inspections of traffic control, materials, and workmanship under direct supervision, and help ensure compliance with plans and quality procedures.

You will review contractor work, report findings, and may assist with sampling or in-place testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates. A valid driver's license and travel are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or NICET (earthwork, asphalt, concrete) if required by jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 2 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Determine acceptability of contractor’s day-to-day work; review daily reports and QC procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance; measure quantities and may perform sampling/testing of soils, aggregate base, concrete and asphalt.
