Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector to join our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. You will perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout and materials at project sites across multiple locations; travel will be required.

The role requires basic arithmetic, English communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required; travel up to 40% may be expected depending on

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 0 years of experience; equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency varies with duties.

Responsibilities

• Inspect traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review daily contractor reports and quality control procedures for acceptance or rejection.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to contract and measure quantities placed.
• May perform sampling and/or in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete and asphalt pavement.
