Job summary

NV5, Inc. in California is seeking Field Technician II/III to perform inspections, testing, and QA/QC during construction and to prepare clear reports. The role requires 1–3 years of field experience, certifications, and the ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Candidates must hold ACI Level I, ICC certifications, AWS/CWI, ASNT Level II, and Caltrans testing experience; strong MS Office skills and a valid driver's license are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of field technician or inspection experience.
• Nuclear gauge safety certification.
• Must write and document reports using MS Office.
• Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Observes construction activities and performs testing and measurements with guidance from supervisory staff.
• Observes work for conformance with approved design drawings and NV5 recommendations.
• Furnishes inspection reports; submits approvals as required to building official or engineer of record.
• Notifies contractor, supervisor, and project manager of problems and deviations from plans and specs.
• Provides ongoing direct client contact arranging job progress meetings, materials testing, inspections, and related activities.
• Position may require travel to work with other NV5 office locations.
