Job summary

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Public Works Inspector in Troy, Texas, to conduct trade-specific inspections of municipal infrastructure and assist the inspection-management team with business development. The role requires travel up to 75% within the Texas service area and verification of compliance with TAC, TDLR standards, and related regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred).
• 2+ years of experience performing field inspections on construction projects.
• ICC Commercial/Residential certifications/licenses as required.
• Texas Plumbing Inspector license.
• QA/QC experience and project management.
• Current valid driver license.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct trade-specific inspections on commercial buildings and manage related projects; travel within the area up to 75%.
• Conduct inspections on residential buildings and manage related projects; travel within the area up to 75%.
• Perform combination code inspections and quality control inspections per International Codes.
• Prepare written and electronic reports and issue correction notices.
• Explain and interpret code and/or quality control regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and the public.
• Assist the inspection management team with business development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
