The Public Works Inspector conducts trade‑specific inspections of municipal infrastructure—including roads, bridges, sidewalks, drainage systems, water‑treatment facilities, wastewater conveyances, and related public‑works projects—throughout a defined Texas service area (typically 1,000–5,000sqmi). The inspector verifies compliance with Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapter130, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) standards, Texas Construction Codes, AASHTO bridge specifications, EPA water‑quality regulations, and any applicable local ordinances. The role also assists the public and contractors with permit needs, prepares written reports and correction notices, and supports the inspection‑management team with business‑development activities. Travel to field sites is a core component of the position (up to75% of work time).
$30-$45/hr
High School Diploma (Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred), with 2 or more years of experience performing field inspections on construction related projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Requirements include:
