Job summary

The Insurance Department of the State of Georgia is seeking a Building Inspector- Manufactured Housing to inspect manufactured housing retailers in North GA or Middle GA, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards.

Under general supervision, you will inspect retailer premises, verify certificates and review records, investigate complaints, and provide code-compliance training to dealers and local officials. Daily reports and activity planning are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with at least 1 year of job-related experience.
• Some positions may require a valid driver’s license.
• Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.

Responsibilities

• Inspect manufactured housing retailers for compliance with policy and standards.
• Inspect retailer dealer premises and review operating certificates and records.
• Investigate complaints of building and safety code violations for manufactured housing.
• Provide training on code compliance to retailers and local officials.
• Prepare and submit daily activity and inspection reports.
• Plan and schedule work activities to meet departmental goals.
• Maintain state-issued equipment and vehicles; perform other duties as assigned.
