Qualifications

• Requires a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent and E.I.T. certification where applicable.
• Professional licenses or certifications listed must be obtained within one year of employment.
• CTQP and FDOT certifications are required for field inspection duties.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record; US residency or green card holder is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Inspector in field duties and perform work under supervision.
• Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
• Gain certifications within the first year of service as Inspector or Engineer Intern.
• Familiarize with Department procedures and project-specific duties.
• Exercise independent planning and make technical field decisions.
• Conduct field surveying, layout, testing, and inspection of roadway/bridge works.
