Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is a full-service transportation design and consulting firm specializing in civil and transportation engineering services. The inspector will monitor contractor work to ensure quality control and contract compliance for projects of moderate to considerable complexity.

Qualifications

• Must have above average geometry and basic math calculation skills.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Good interpersonal communication skills, commitment to deadlines, and positive team attitude.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the fast-paced transportation industry.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Fleet drivers must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monitoring, testing, and conformance of client/contractor work to ensure plans, specs, materials, traffic and erosion control devices meet quality and safety standards.
• Ensure all materials and procedures comply with LADOTD standards.
• Run weekly construction meetings and generate minutes.
• Maintain project files and shop drawings.
• Generate daily reports and project photographs.
• Document and report non-compliance actions and safety violations to supervisor.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and partners.
• Record daily inspection notes for CEI document management.
• Provide expert documentation for construction documents and forms.
• Read and understand plans and specifications.
