Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with four years construction experience or associate degree with two years experience
• Prior NCDOT Construction Inspection experience with active materials testing certification
• Ability to perform field measurements and unit conversions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work outdoors and weekends/nights if required

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with drawings and NCDOT standards
• Maintain detailed daily records and generate inspection and pay estimates reports
• Perform materials testing on soil, asphalt, and concrete
• Collaborate with NCDOT staff, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly
• Enforce safety protocols and communicate progress to stakeholders
