Goins Sweitzer Engineers and Consultants, PLLC is seeking a motivated NCDOT CEI Technician to join a team of construction professionals in Shelby, NC and surrounding areas. The role involves on-site inspections to verify compliance with NCDOT standards, documenting daily activities with an iPad, and collaborating with DOT staff, contractors, and project teams to address issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years construction-related experience OR associate's degree in engineering technology, geomatics, or related field with 2 years experience
• Prior NCDOT Construction Inspection Experience with active materials testing certification
• Willingness to work weekends and nights if required

Responsibilities

• Construction Inspection on site to verify compliance with drawings and NCDOT standards
• Maintain detailed daily records and generate inspection and test reports
• Perform materials testing on soil, asphalt, and concrete
• Monitor and enforce safety protocols on construction sites
• Communicate updates with NCDOT representatives, contractors and project team
