The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services seeks an Agriculture and Consumer Protection Specialist to inspect and test weighing and measuring devices across the state, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma and a valid Class A CDL; frequent travel including overnight stays is expected. Headquarters are negotiable within multiple counties, and background checks and drug testing are required.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Requires possession of a valid Class A (CDL) driver license.
• Willingness to travel frequently including overnight travel.

Responsabilités

• Inspect and test commercial weighing and measuring devices for accuracy and general compliance with state laws and regulations.
• Record all inspections, findings, observations and field actions on official report forms; submit reports and keep records up to date.
• Maintain specialized unit with test truck and equipment; operate test equipment per safety manuals and policies.
• Investigate violations or consumer complaints and report findings to supervisor and Tallahassee headquarters.
