Job summary

ExxonMobil in Williston, ND is seeking IC&E Technicians in the Bakken area (Williston, Tioga, and Alexander) to maintain and troubleshoot transmitters, valves, switches, sensors, and related field equipment.

This hands-on role requires outdoor work, overtime and on-call rotations, coordination with partner teams, and a commitment to safe, reliable operation across MCCs, PLCs, and instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of applicable electrical/automation work experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to work outdoors and independently in field conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot transmitters, valves, switches, sensors.
• Calibrate and test safety systems, including ESDs and fire/gas detection.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, RTUs, MCCs, VFDs, and field instrumentation.
• Work safely on control circuits in enclosures with other AC/DC circuits.
• Coordinate with employees from other contract companies and departments to meet a common goal.
• Outdoor field work with rotation and on-call requirements.
