Louisville Gas and Electric seeks an Instrument & Electrical Technician Helper to perform basic checks, inspections, repairs and installations on station equipment and apparatus. The role supports higher-classification technicians and tasks include tool handling, material provisioning, and keeping the work area clean and safe.

Qualifications

Speak, understand, read and write English; follow oral and written instructions.
High school diploma or equivalent or educational equivalent.
Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass driver’s test for Company vehicles.
Willing to work indoor and outdoor in varying weather conditions.
Willing to learn and advance to higher classifications.

Responsibilities

Perform simple work to check, inspect, repair, maintain and install station equipment and apparatus.
Assist higher classification employees and supply tools, equipment and materials as needed.
Keep work areas clean and orderly, report damaged equipment, and comply with safety rules.
Learn proper use of hand tools, power tools, meters, test equipment, hoists, drill presses, grinders, and other equipment.
Set up surfaces, remove insulation, guards, and housings as required.
Assist in electrical and instrument repair, calibration and troubleshooting.
