Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment at our Texas facilities.

The role covers calibration, preventive maintenance, and repairs of PLCs, transmitters, valves, and related devices, with on-call responsibilities and field work throughout the plant and compressor sites. You will work with operators, vendors, and supervision to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and reliable

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years experience with instrumentation and electrical components related to amine plant operations, compressor station operations, gas measurement and Burner Management Systems.
• Must pass Operation Qualification test after training if necessary.
• General knowledge of 4-20mA control and transmitters.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC and HMI platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC systems using Rockwell software tools.
• Working knowledge of SLC 500, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix control systems.
• Familiarity with PanelView HMIs and FactoryTalk View Studio.
• Knowledge of 480 VAC three-phase power.
• Ability to safely work with motors and distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain amine plant and compressor station instrumentation and electrical assets safely and in compliance with regulations.
• Operate and calibrate PLCs, burners, and related equipment.
• Record maintenance reports and service records.
• Provide on-site contractor oversight and safety assurance.
• Respond to on-call and emergency requirements.
• Support Process Safety Management and environmental training.
