Job summary

Maricopa County Flood Control District seeks a Water Instrument Technician to install, maintain and repair high-precision hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring instruments across our county network.

Under general supervision you will calibrate sensors, troubleshoot electronics and radio telemetry systems, install gauges in remote locations, and document instrument operation to support public safety and flood management.

Qualifications

  • Two years of electronic and radio telemetric instrumentation experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Related post-secondary education may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic and radio telemetric instrumentation.
  • Installs rain, water-level, and weather gauges in remote locations; calibrates sensors and maintains station exterior and grounds.
  • Performs radio path verifications and operates calibration equipment.
  • Uses personal computers for diagnosing, programming, and testing equipment and keeps records of instrument operation and work performed.
  • Operates various manual and power tools and equipment and performs other duties as assigned.
