Job summary

Placer County Water Agency (CA) seeks an entry-level Utility Worker I to perform unskilled and semi-skilled mechanical and general maintenance in the Foresthill area. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance and repair of equipment at dams and hydro-electric plants, tool operation, painting, brush clearing, and basic construction tasks.

The position is entry-level, with supervision and potential travel to remote sites.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe construction practices.
• Knowledge of safe hand and power tool operation.
• Basic building maintenance skills including carpentry, plumbing, painting.
• Basic construction methods and techniques.
• Principles and practices of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair of equipment of facilities associated with dams and hydro-electric plants.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools in accomplishing tasks.
• Operate heavy tractor equipment as needed.
• Paint buildings and equipment.
• Clear brush.
• Perform routine building maintenance and road maintenance.
• Perform concrete construction and repair work.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, other Agency employees and the public.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
