Job summary

Hawai'i Rural Water Association in Los Altos, CA seeks a Temporary Water System Maintenance Worker to support essential maintenance on drinking water infrastructure, including mains, meters, hydrants, and service lines. Under supervision, you will assist with repairs, discharges, and basic site cleanup.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a CA Class C driver's license, ability to read and follow safety procedures, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively with supervisor, coworkers and the public.
• Ability to perform basic math and read safety instructions and manuals.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid CA driver’s license, and be insurable.
• Familiarity with word processing and email is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Excavate and expose service leaks; assist in repair or replacement of assets.
• Assist in repairs and maintenance of meters, lines, and hydrants.
• Assist in flushing and maintaining mains and operate hand/power tools.
• Prepare service trucks and load materials; dispose of debris.
• May take distribution system water samples.
