Job summary

Circle K in Tempe, AZ seeks an experienced HR professional focused on recruitment, employee relations, and policy guidance to support store operations. You will build candidate pipelines, screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and ensure compliance with HR programs while fostering strong partnerships with managers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR, 2–5 years of HR experience, and proficiency with MS Office and HR systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Two to five years of experience or more preferred working in a human resources department.
  • Must be computer literate in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word and HR systems.
  • Must be self-motivated to accomplish all assigned duties in a set timeframe and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills, the ability to manage multiple activities with a strong emphasis to detail.
  • Strong coaching, counseling, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong diagnostics skills (Listening, Probing and Analyzing)
  • Demonstrated sound judgement skills- ability to assess risk and take appropriate action.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to build successful partnerships
  • Flexibility and adaptability; ability to successfully work under pressure and handle multiple highly sensitive issues
  • Ability to provide and receive feedback
  • Must be able to travel with some overnight stays possible
  • Approximately 60% of work time is field based

Responsibilities

  • Maintains relationships by developing an understanding of the strategies, business operations; attending client meetings; assisting in preparation of presentations; answering questions; explaining policies and procedures.
  • Increases employee’s effectiveness by communicating job expectations. Coaches, counsels and disciplines employees; communicates values, strategies and objectives. Plan, monitor, and appraise job results; foster a climate conducive for offering information and opinions; provides educational opportunities.
  • Maximizes diversity by identifying issues; coaching clients during hiring process; and providing training and guidance.
  • Responds to employment related civil actions, federal agency charges, and employee complaints by conducting investigations, maintaining documentation, and partnering with legal counsel.
  • Resolves manager and employee dissatisfaction by investigating complaints and concerns; evaluating and offering possible courses of action; providing advice, guidance, and direction.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Ensures compliance with requirements, policies and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate systems, policies and governmental laws and regulations; advising management on needed actions.
  • Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying and reviewing existing and new laws; auditing and enforcing adherence to requirements; rendering opinions; advising management on needed actions.
  • Represents the organization by obtaining, clarifying, and verifying documentation of situations; meeting with government representatives, which includes attending hearings and/or mediation; studying and resolving complaints; recommending remedies.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Post detailed job descriptions/ad placements on external job boards with strong sourcing ability through internet and social media
  • Develop a qualified candidate pipeline for a variety of store management, customer service, hospitality, and retail positions
  • Reviews resumes and applications, conduct phone screens and set up interviews for store manager candidates
  • Ensures compliance with recruitment and employment laws with working closely with ROD’s, Market Managers, Hiring Managers, and Training Manager
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction but with strong accountability communication skills
  • Able to multitask, is flexible and can adapt quickly to change in business needs
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written/grammar communication skills
  • Must demonstrate high attention to detail, good judgment and possess a sense of urgency

Requirements
