Job summary

Curry College invites applications for a part-time Head Coach for our Field Hockey program. Working under the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach will oversee all aspects of a Division III field hockey program, ensuring compliance with NCAA, CCC, and Curry College policies.

The position focuses on coaching, recruitment, game and practice planning, budgeting, fundraising, and student-athlete success, with responsibilities including scheduling, travel, and community outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited four-year college.
• One to two years of coaching experience at the club, high school or college level.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and eligibility/recruiting practices.
• Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends/holidays.
• Current driver's license and good driving record.
• Regular physical exertion including lifting 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Teach and develop sport-specific skills safely and effectively.
• Create up-to-date practice plans and drill progression.
• Schedule practices and prepare for games with the assistant coach.
• Recruit and retain high-caliber student-athletes with admissions.
• Manage recruitment database and coordinate visits.
• Monitor team budget and fundraising efforts.
• Ensure weight room supervision when team uses facility.
• Coordinate travel arrangements for games.
• Attend athletic department meetings.
