Job summary

The City of Seabrook is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Utility Operator to support our Utilities team. This hands-on role keeps water and wastewater systems operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. You’ll join a crew dedicated to safety, teamwork, and doing the job right.

Expect a field-based position outdoors, operating backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, and jet trucks, with opportunities to respond to emergencies and contribute to infrastructure maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years in utilities, construction, or related field.
• TCEQ Class C Water and/or Wastewater license required.
• Valid Texas Class B CDL or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain water and sanitary sewer lines and related infrastructure.
• Safely operate heavy equipment including backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, and jet trucks.
• Use a jet truck to clean sewer mains and maintain system performance.
• Assist with lift station and wastewater system operations, identifying issues and supporting repairs.
• Set up and maintain safe work zones, including traffic control.
• Inspect, maintain, and care for tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Support the Utilities team with emergency response and other duties.
