Job summary

P&S Scale Company in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Heavy-Duty Scale Technician to install, calibrate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain truck scales and industrial weighing equipment at customer sites across South and Central Texas. This field-based role blends mechanical, electrical, and customer service skills as you work independently at diverse industrial facilities.

This position requires a mechanical mindset, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to document service reports

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple service calls and priorities independently.
• Detail-oriented with focus on quality workmanship.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record.
• CDL Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement preferred or obtainable.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work outdoors in variable weather.
• Willingness to travel throughout South and Central Texas, with overnight stays as needed.
• Basic computer skills to complete digital reports.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, inspect, maintain and repair truck scales and industrial weighing systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic and software issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
• Conduct calibrations using certified test weights and specialized equipment.
• Ensure compliance with NIST Handbook 44 and industry standards.
• Complete accurate service and calibration documentation and reports.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to customers.
• Operate company vehicles, forklifts, cranes and other job-site equipment safely.
• Travel across South and Central Texas; participate in after-hours or emergency calls as needed.
