Job Summary

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment and components, including developing repair plans and sequences.
• Determine necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Perform repairs safely and properly, ensuring quality assurance testing of repaired components, systems, and machines.
• Maintain and complete reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service, and work orders.
• Communicate repair progress with supervisors.
• Manage parts and materials through the company's ordering system.
• Handle special tools and maintain proper care of shop equipment.
• Use company vehicle, service truck, and fuel cards responsibly.
• Keep work areas and vehicles clean and safe.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
• Follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Education, Experience, Skills

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; or an Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology, or four years of apprenticeship experience. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling. Also, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, or crawl as needed. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, weather, extreme temperatures, and vibration. Noise level is moderate to loud.
