Job summary

Gateway Services Inc. is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support operations across the Central region, with a remote/East Region footprint.

This field-facing role partners with Operations leaders to conduct workplace assessments, inspections, and incident investigations, translating safety requirements into practical actions. A Bachelor's degree in OH&S or related field and 4+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least four years of relevant safety experience, ideally in manufacturing, distribution or another multi-site operational environment.
• Experience with workplace inspections, incident investigations and job-hazard analysis.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain safety requirements to operational leaders and frontline Team Members.
• Sound judgment, calm response to urgent situations and dependable follow-through.
• Fleet safety experience or safety/environmental certifications are assets rather than requirements.
• Willingness to speak up when something is not safe while maintaining productive relationships with Operations.
• Regional travel up to 50% to Care Centers and other locations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workplace assessments and inspections.
• Support incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Identify practical preventive actions and ensure follow-through.
• Partner with Operations leadership to translate safety requirements into actions.
• Maintain regional safety information and analyze incident trends to identify recurring risks.
