Job summary

Accelera is seeking Distribution Field Technicians to support fiber make-ready initiatives and electric utility distribution projects across North Carolina and Virginia. You will develop a professional foundation in power delivery, GIS, and joint-use engineering while working outdoors in pairs.

You will gather data on infrastructure with measurement tools, mobile software, and tablets, documenting assets and coordinating with design teams to ensure field data meets project specifications.

Qualifications

• Field-based work ~90% of the time.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to safely operate a company or rental vehicle.
• Proficiency with mobile devices and GIS software.
• Willingness for regular overnight travel within the region.
• Experience in utilities, construction, telecommunications, surveying, or GIS.

Responsibilities

• Gather essential data from electric distribution infrastructure in the field.
• Conduct inspections to document poles and telecommunications attachments.
• Record measurements, equipment details, and photographic evidence.
• Use mobile devices, tablets, and GIS software to collect field information.
• Identify assets to maintain an accurate infrastructure inventory.
• Document site conditions to support future engineering and make-ready planning.
• Escalate potential field concerns for engineering review.
• Maintain precise records of field activities.
• Plan daily routes to cover assigned service territories.
• Collaborate with design/engineering teams to meet project specs.
• Adhere to safety protocols while navigating sites and roadways.
• Travel consistently across NC and VA to meet project demands.
