Job summary

UES, Inc. is seeking a Driller's Assistant to support geotechnical drilling operations, assist with soil exploration, well installations, and site investigations. You will operate and maintain drilling equipment, and help prepare reports while following safety procedures.

Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, safety‑minded, and able to work outdoors in varying weather. Travel to local and out‑of‑town project sites is expected, with potential overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–3 years of Civil/Geotechnical/Environmental field experience preferred.
• 40-hour OSHA training preferred; ability to pass OSHA 40HR certification.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; CDL preferred or willing to obtain.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Collect and test soil, concrete, and construction materials per specs.
• Ensure testing equipment functions, calibrates, and is maintained.
• Operate drilling tools and equipment, including jackhammers and pressure washers.
• Assemble/disassemble drilling equipment, rig setup, and site prep.
• Maintain and clean drilling rigs and vehicles; ensure safety.
• Submit daily time and labor reports per policy.
• Travel to job sites; adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Adhere to OSHA and industry safety guidelines; may work overnight or weekends.
