Job summary

S&ME Inc. in Charleston, SC is seeking Drillers and Driller Assistants to support geotechnical drilling operations across field sites. This is a hands-on, non-desk role with opportunities to learn, lead, and grow within a 100% employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL and Driller License preferred for certain levels.
• 5+ years of drilling experience for Senior/II levels preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with geotechnical drilling operations using hollow-stem auger, mud rotary, and rock coring.
• Collect and log soil/rock samples and complete boring logs.
• Prepare, transport, inspect, and maintain drill rigs and equipment.
• Ensure safety and quality on-site and follow project specifications.
• Coordinate field activities and report field conditions to project teams.
• Train junior staff and provide drilling guidance on complex projects.
