Job summary

NV5 is seeking a motivated Field Utility Services – Field Technician to support utility infrastructure documentation and field data collection. The role involves capturing high-quality geospatial imagery and asset data while working outdoors along utility corridors and construction sites.

The position is entry-level to early-career, offering opportunities for advancement in engineering, surveying, and project management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of field operations, utility services, construction, surveying, or related experience.
• Ability to operate mobile technology, tablets, and cloud-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate scanning and reality capture equipment to collect utility asset and infrastructure data.
• Capture georeferenced imagery and field documentation for utility, telecommunications, transportation, and civil infrastructure projects.
• Perform field data collection along utility corridors, rights-of-way, roadways, and construction sites.
• Verify asset locations and document field conditions using mobile apps and GIS platforms.
• Upload, organize, and maintain project data per quality standards.
• Assist senior staff with utility investigations, site assessments, and documentation.
• Record measurements, field notes, photographs, and observations during activities.
• Support utility mapping and asset inventory projects with accurate data capture.
