NV5 is seeking a full-time Utility Services Technician III (utility locator) for our Alpharetta, GA office. This role involves locating underground utilities and verifying existing utilities at project sites, often within a 2–4 person crew.

The position requires an associate degree (preferred), proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to type. Travel up to 50% and familiarity with AutoCAD/MicroStation or iPad are a plus. Outdoor work and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to type.
• Familiarity with iOS operating system is a plus.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and MicroStation is a plus.
• 1–3 years of utility designation experience.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
• Travel up to 50% of the time.
• Familiarity with iPad or tablet is a plus.
• Minimum education requirement of High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilités

• Location of underground utilities such as water, gas, power, fiber optic, and telephone.
• Identification of utility sizes, materials, and types.
• Work as part of a two to four person crew.
• Collection of existing conditions information for the assessment and identification of underground utilities.
• Assist with operation and maintenance of vacuum excavation truck.
• Be knowledgeable of the quality levels of SUE and differentiating between each.
• Help implement new technologies and methods.
• Provide support for land survey in the creation of topographic maps.
