Job summary

Weston Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Associate Geoscientist 1 in Lincolnshire, IL to support routine field investigations and technical reporting. You will assist with monitoring-well installation, soil and groundwater sampling, subsurface documentation, data review, and draft deliverables under senior guidance.

The role offers mentorship to develop technical judgment, industry knowledge, and increasing responsibility while ensuring tasks meet schedule, budget, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Geology, Geoscience, or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of field investigations incl. soil borings, monitoring-well installation, logging, sampling.
• Ability to perform routine field activities safely with guidance.
• Ability to prepare portions of draft deliverables and maintain records.
• Ability to collect environmental data, perform QA checks, support lab coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine field activities including field documentation and sampling under guidance.
• Collect and organize project data, perform QA checks, support laboratory coordination.
• Prepare portions of draft technical reports, tables, figures, and geologic maps; incorporate reviewer feedback.
• Support deliverables using standards, regulations, and project requirements.
• Complete tasks within scope, schedule, and budget; communicate progress to leadership.
• Observe subcontractor activities and report concerns to project leadership.
• Participate in field safety activities and Stop Work Authority when needed.
• Build foundational knowledge and apply lessons learned to improve work.
• Seek guidance from senior staff for unfamiliar tasks and mentorship.
• Support client and internal stakeholder interactions and respond to inquiries.
