Job summary

Roux Consulting seeks a Staff Geologist II to support environmental investigation and remediation projects in the Houston area. You will assist the project team and Project Manager with field support, sampling, logging, and data collection to produce reliable deliverables.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least two years in environmental consulting, with a track record in field operations, data analysis, and report preparation. Teamwork and independent field work are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Proficient in performing routine field sampling techniques for soils, groundwater, and vapor samples.
• Experience overseeing drilling techniques (direct push, hollow stem, sonic) and supervising field staff.
• Ability to work independently in the field and prepare technical deliverables.
• Strong data evaluation and analytical skills.
• Ability to assist in growth of Staff I level professionals and manage tasks.
• Field activities include coordinating drilling, monitoring wells, and sampling environmental media.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field project work and oversee drilling, monitoring, logging of soils, sampling of environmental media.
• Prepare technical reports by coordinating figures, data tables, and site descriptions.
• Analyze field data to ensure effective project completion.
• Support junior staff development and mentoring in the field.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines on site.
