Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services seeks an Engineering Geologist to join our Pittsburgh, PA team. You will serve as a field representative during subsurface exploration and construction on diverse projects including universities, hospitals, high-rises, arenas, and logistics facilities.

The role involves geologic hazard assessment, field investigations, and close collaboration with engineers to interpret site conditions and support design decisions.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology or related field; MS preferred.
• 1+ years of practical field experience in geologic/geotechnical projects.
• Experience with geologic hazard investigations (landsides, fault ruptures, rockfall).
• Skill in geologic mapping and interpreting aerial photographs.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform geologic/seismic hazard analysis, construction observation and testing.
• Develop scope and execute field investigations.
• Identify and implement field and lab solutions.
• Develop geologic cross sections, maps and figures for reports.
• Prepare logs and reports; support engineers with site geology insights.
