Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced geologist/environmental field specialist for future project needs. You will plan and conduct investigations, perform drilling and logging, and manage soil/rock cores and sampling in field environments. Travel is required, with emphasis on safety and quality documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience, with strong writing and GIS skills, and the ability to work independently in field settings under limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct geologic and environmental investigations.
• Conduct drilling and logging for moderate to highly complex projects.
• Log soil/rock cores and prepare boring logs per ASTM/USCS standards.
• Collect and manage environmental and geotechnical samples for laboratory analysis.
• Install and maintain groundwater monitoring wells/instrumentation.
• Prepare technical field notes, logs, and support documentation.
• Attend progress meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
