General Responsibilities
- Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data including soil and groundwater to develop conclusions concerning the environmental and geologic site conditions.
- Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff on projects.
- Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils including boring investigations and soil type classification.
- Interpret soil, bedrock, and groundwater elevation and quality data.
- Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigations, assessments, and remediation activities.
- Participate in projects such as construction focusing on earthwork and foundations, well design, environmental assessments, and seismic risk assessments.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
- Follow safety rules, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety issues.
- Understand and practice quality standards.
- Support proposal and project delivery quality standards.
- Conduct analyses as a developing Geologist/Hydrogeologist.
- Perform site visits, observations, and data collection.
- Assist in data analysis from sampling, reports, maps, and tests.
- Conduct water, soil, and other sampling.
- Implement technical requirements to complete projects, directing field staff as needed.
- Design investigative programs using appropriate techniques.
- Limited client contact may be involved.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field with at least 1 year of related experience.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification
- Certification in the relevant field is preferred.
