Job summary

The Taylor Group through its SSI Sudden Service subsidiary seeks a Generator Technician B for Odessa, TX. This full-time role involves diagnosing and repairing generator sets on customer sites, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating with the service manager to schedule travel.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, DOT certification, a valid driver's license, and experience with diesel or gas engines and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DOT certification required; 21+ years old.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Experience with diesel and/or gasoline engines; electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Consult with Service Manager to plan effective work and travel.
• Provide tools and parts and arrange on-site repairs at customer premises.
• Report to Service Manager with customer details, machine description, and time data for billing.
• Perform preventative maintenance on generator sets, including fluids, filters, AC/DC systems, belts, hoses, exhaust.
• Conduct load bank testing and transfer switch testing.
• Complete required paperwork (JSA, inspection reports, receipts) promptly.
• Pursue ongoing technical skill development through training.
