Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Landfill Gas Technician to join a dedicated field services team. You will operate and maintain gas wellfields, monitor systems, and perform environmental testing in outdoor settings. Training starts with one month at a home landfill, then frequent travel (60–80%) across states, with a company truck after proving safety and reliability.

You will work on gas analyzers, data collection, and maintenance while adhering to safety practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in outdoor/field industries such as construction, utilities or environmental services.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues in the field.
• Willingness to travel 60–80% across multiple states to support sites.
• Aptitude with pumps, piping, valves and gas collection equipment.
• Capability to perform environmental field work including sampling and testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operations and maintenance of landfill gas wellfields with the field services team.
• Monitor and tune wells using gas analyzers to optimize performance.
• Conduct surface emissions monitoring to support compliance and safety.
• Perform pump pulling, inspection and maintenance of collection equipment.
• Collect environmental samples and perform testing per procedures and safety standards.
• Record and report system performance and environmental data with field tools.
• Troubleshoot field issues with a strong mechanical mindset.
• Follow hazardous materials handling and HAZWOPER safety practices.
• Travel regularly to landfill sites across several states for operations.
• Work outdoors in varying weather, maintaining safety and quality.
• Collaborate to improve field practices and environmental outcomes.
