Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. seeks an Operations Specialist based at the Southern Natural Gas compressor station in Gallion, AL. The role entails installing, operating, and maintaining gas pipelines, stations, and related facilities, with nights and weekends on-call responsibility.

Qualifications

• Must respond to callouts and emergencies after hours.
• Knowledge of gas compressors station operations.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs and other diagrams.
• Knowledge of safe handling of flammable gases and high/low pressure systems.
• Experience with electrical switch gear and power distribution is a plus.
• Engine maintenance practices for natural gas equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pipelines, gas compressors and related equipment.
• Start, stop and operate engines/pumps within defined parameters.
• Ensure cost-effective performance of engines, pumps and equipment at stations and plants.
• Diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps and instruments.
• Oversee maintenance by third parties and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain documentation and perform company procedures and standards.
